This Privacy Policy explains how StickyTopics ("we", "our", or "the Application") handles your personal information when you use our web application, desktop app, or mobile progressive web app (accessible at https://zash121.github.io/StickyTopics/).

1. Overview & Privacy Philosophy

StickyTopics is designed with a privacy-first, client-side architecture. We believe that your thoughts, tasks, and personal notes belong strictly to you. StickyTopics does not operate a proprietary server database, does not track your online activities, and does not sell or monetize personal data.

2. Information We Collect and Process

• Google Account Information: When you choose to sign in with Google, we access basic identity details provided by Google OAuth (your display name, email address, and profile photo URL). This is used solely to authenticate your identity in the app interface.
• Your Sticky Notes and Topics: All notes, categories, topics, checklists, and timestamps you create are stored locally in your browser's storage (IndexedDB / LocalStorage) on your device.
• Google Drive App Data: If you enable Google Drive Cloud Sync, the application connects to your Google Drive to save an encrypted/structured backup file (stickytopics_backup.json) in your private Google Drive Application Data storage.

3. Google API Services User Data Policy Compliance

Specifically regarding Google User Data:

• No Third-Party Sharing: We do not transfer, sell, or rent your Google user data to third parties, advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
• No Human Viewing: No human at StickyTopics or any third party has access to or reads your private notes or Google Drive files. Data transfer occurs exclusively between your device and Google's official API servers.
• No AI Model Training: Your Google user data and private notes are never used to train or fine-tune generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
• Strict Scope Limitation: StickyTopics strictly requests access to https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata (the Application Data Folder). This restricted scope restricts StickyTopics to its own private sandbox folder in your Google Drive. StickyTopics cannot access, view, edit, or delete any of your personal documents, spreadsheets, photos, or other files in Google Drive.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Because StickyTopics operates primarily on your device and through your own cloud account, you maintain complete ownership and control over data retention:

• Local Data: You can clear your notes at any time by clearing your browser cache/storage or using the in-app "Clear/Delete" controls.
• Google Drive Data: You can disconnect Google Drive sync at any time via the sync status modal in the app. You can also revoke StickyTopics' access permanently through your Google Account Security Settings at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. Security

All communication with Google OAuth and Google Drive APIs is encrypted in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). StickyTopics does not log or retain access tokens on external servers.

6. Children's Privacy

StickyTopics does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
